Answer 1 : HILARY SWANK
Hilary Swank, in full Hilary Ann Swank, (born July 30, 1974, Lincoln, Nebraska, U.S.), American actress who won two best actress Academy Awards, both for roles that were considered uncommonly difficult and courageous—a young transgender man in Boys Don’t Cry (1999) and a female professional boxer in Million Dollar Baby (2004).
In the early 1990s Swank played guest roles on such TV shows as Harry and the Hendersons, Evening Shade, and Growing Pains, and she made her film debut as a high school student in Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1992).
Swank starred as the title character in The Next Karate Kid (1994) and spent one season (1997–98) on Beverly Hills 90210 before she was offered the role of Brandon Teena in Boys Don’t Cry.
Swank’s next few films—The Affair of the Necklace (2001), Insomnia (2002), The Core (2003)—were only marginally successful, though she did win praise for her performance in the TV movie Iron Jawed Angels (2004). Swank gained 20 pounds (9 kg) of muscle for her role as a boxer in Million Dollar Baby. Her later films included The Black Dahlia (2006), Freedom Writers (2007), P.S. I Love You (2007), Amelia (2009), The Resident (2011), and The Homesman (2014).
In 2017 Swank appeared in Logan Lucky and she also appears in the TV series Trust (2018). In 2019 she appeared in I Am Mother, and the following year in The Hunt. Swank then played an astronaut in the Netflix series Away (2020).
Answer 2 : BOYS DON’T CRY
Boys Don’t Cry is a 1999 American biographical film directed by Kimberly Peirce, and co-written by Peirce and Andy Bienen. The film is a dramatization of the real-life story of Brandon Teena (played in the film by Hilary Swank), an American trans man. The film co-stars Chloë Sevigny as Teena’s girlfriend, Lana Tisdel.
After reading about the case while in college, Peirce conducted extensive research for a screenplay. The film focuses on the relationship between Brandon and Lana. The script took dialogue directly from archive footage in the 1998 documentary The Brandon Teena Story. Many actors sought the lead role during a three-year casting process before Swank was cast. Swank was chosen because her personality seemed similar to Brandon’s. Most of the film’s characters were based on real-life people; others were composites.
The film’s themes include the nature of romantic and platonic relationships, the causes of violence against LGBT people, especially transgender people, and the relationship among social class, race, and gender. The film was acclaimed by critics, with many ranking it as one of the best films of the year; praise focused on the lead performances by Swank and Sevigny as well as the film’s depiction of its subject matter. However, some people who had been involved with Brandon in real life criticized the film for not portraying the events accurately.
PLOT
The film focuses on the brief life of Teena Brandon (Hilary Swank) who becomes Brandon Teena and claims a new male identity in the rural town of Falls City, Nebraska. There, Brandon successfully pulls off portraying a man unbeknownst to the women he’s dating, eventually falling in love with Lana (Chloe Sevigny). He also befriends Lana’s friends John and Tom. At first, Brandon’s new friends like him and treat him as a buddy. But when Brandon’s sexual identity is revealed, the deception triggers a spiral of horrific violence that ends in homicide.
